I've gotten right down to the business of writing Book 2 of The Joyful Noise Series. Distant Fire is so far moving at a nice clip, but then I personally enjoy the character of Linda Cuthbertson. Getting to know Drew, this book's hero, too. If you've already read Book 1, Unconditional, then you're already acquainted with the heroine's mom, with whom Valerie shared a very close relationship. Linda now gets to be the leading lady of this romance!
A quick note for readers: The couple on the new book's cover is supposed to be the hero and heroine BEFORE they were separated for many years, when they fell in love in their youth, just in case there's any confusion on that. The picture captured them the way I saw them in my imagination, as they were when they first met, so I really wanted to use it when I designed the cover. Both Linda and Drew Lingerfelt meet again when he moves to Hathaway, that fictional little town a short drive from Wildwood, New Jersey. Oh, and you'll see how Summer Delaney, the third musician, fits into the scheme of things, too--plus get more of a peek at her life!
And one more thing: By now, if you've visited my blog before, you've noticed I keep a WIP (Work in Progress) word counter on this page. That total's not written in stone, luckily. Both this book, and the 3rd and final book of the series, For the Love of Summer, may be 55,000 words, or less, or maybe even more.
In closing, if you haven't picked up a copy of Unconditional, I just wanted to remind you that you can get a copy at Smashwords, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or whoever is your favorite online bookstore! Now it's back to work for me. Cheers!
